The Lord’s Taverners ACT has helped to usher in the new cricket season at a launch at Sportsmans Warehouse in Fyshwick.

Members of our hard-working committee and other Lord’s Taverners members gave up their time to staff the barbecue at the launch, which was held on Wednesday, 12 September.

People who visited the new cricket display and training facility at the well-known local sports store were able to grab a snag (or two) in return for a gold-coin donation.

Thanks to their generosity and a donation from Sportsmans Warehouse, we were able to raise just over $200 on the night.

Those who attended were also able to see one of Canberra’s finest Big Bash League exports, Adelaide Striker Jono Dean in action in the nets which are part of the in-store training facility.

Funds raised by the Lord’s Taverners ACT go towards supporting local young and disadvantaged athletes.
